As we sail through the Bay Of Islands there are lots of marine life to spot. Our favourite is the Little Blue Penguin, the smallest penguin in the world. There are also sharks, stingrays and an array of birdlife to view. The Bay Of Islands is a marine mammal sanctuary zone. This zone ensures marine mammals are viewed from a safe distance so they can thrive in their natural environment. This zone is in place mainly due to the Bottlenose Dolphin which is a critically endangered species in the Bay Of Islands.
